What size skip do I need?
The right skip size depends on the type and amount of waste you have. Small clear outs and DIY jobs often suit a 4 or 6 yard skip, while renovations and larger projects usually need an 8 yard skip or above. If you’re unsure, call us and we’ll advise so you don’t overpay or run out of space.
How long can I keep the skip?
Skip hire periods are flexible. We’ll agree a hire period when you book, and if you need the skip for longer, just let us know. We aim to be flexible wherever possible.
Most household waste, garden waste, and building waste can go into our skips. Some items are restricted, such as hazardous materials, electrical items, tyres, and certain chemicals. We follow standard industry guidelines and will explain this clearly before delivery.
What cannot go in a skip?
Items such as asbestos, paint, solvents, batteries, gas bottles, fridges, freezers, and other hazardous waste cannot be placed in skips. If you’re unsure about a specific item, it’s always best to ask before putting it in the skip.
Do I need a permit for a skip?
If the skip is being placed on private land like a driveway, a permit is not usually required. If it needs to be placed on a road or public land, a permit is normally needed. We can arrange this for you and explain any costs involved.
Can you arrange the permit for me?
Yes. We can handle the permit application on your behalf and liaise with the council. This saves you time and ensures everything is arranged correctly before delivery.
How quickly can you deliver a skip?
Same or next day delivery is available where possible. Delivery times depend on availability and permits, but we always aim to be quick and reliable.
Do I need to be at the property for delivery?
Not always. As long as we have clear instructions on where the skip should be placed and access is available, you don’t usually need to be present. We’ll confirm everything with you beforehand.
What happens when the skip is full?
Once you’ve finished with the skip, just let us know and we’ll arrange collection. Please make sure waste is level with the top of the skip and not overfilled, as overfilled skips cannot be safely collected.
Payment details will be explained clearly when you book. If you have any questions about pricing or payment, just ask and we’ll talk it through.
We provide skip hire for homeowners, builders and trades, and small businesses. No matter the size of the job, we offer the same reliable service and clear advice.
